It would appear that a longtime AOL message board troll found a way to void my Journal link posted on the Signature line of my message board posts. He did it by adding a space to my name. He would have me believe that AOL, and Himself, are one and the same. If that should turn out to be true then AOL is going to Hell in a basket even quicker than I thought.

Barry, What in the world is going on? Cannot get a comment on your posting. Your previous entry on trolls was both enlightening and confusing. Confusing, only in the aspect that such vicious minds could be allowed the time on earth to busy themselves wrecking such havoc. May they end in eternity together! But as to your blank entry of tonight...is that me, or the merely the work of "The Computerized Evil Ones'? (Oh, and still no journa. Another story, another time.)

I have noticed that some of your journal entries have very short lines.  I assume that this is because they were originally message board postings that you had copied into your journal.    If this is true, then the line shortening would be because the message board software (i.e., AOL code) shortens the lines by adding line breaks to suit the format of the boards.

So it is entirely possible that it's not a blank added by a person in the link portion of your signature, but a line break inserted by the formatting code.   It is not unique to you, and IS NOT AN ATTACK ON YOU.  A "troll" inserting a blank in your posting is literally impossible anyway.

It disturbs me that you are so quick to see enemies everywhere, that you end up creating enemies through accusations.

AOL does have a problem with text formatting.  Their use of and handling of HTML (hyper-text markup language) is non-standard, because AOL is old.  AOL was one of the first "easy-to-use" browsers, and they haven't changed with the times, as standards have changed and improved.  That's one of the reasons I left AOL for Firefox and Blogger - AOL can't handle some text formatting, and some websites look strange when accessed through AOL.

As a simple example, have you noticed that the font sizes AOL offers for your journal entries are screwed up?  For some fonts, size 12 is smaller than 10.  That's just plain wrong.

So, your link probably doesn't work simply because the poorly written, untested, badly maintained AOL formatting software added line breaks, and one happened to fall in the middle of your link.

IT IS NOT A PERSONAL ATTACK ON YOU BY ANYONE.

What is a "personal attack" on me and my family
are those message board posters who for months
and years are allowed to have signature-space words
attacking and defiling my children and my wife.
For years I've complained. For years I've been mocked
for failing to get AOL's attention. Clearly the perpetrator
is an intimate of an AOL employee who continues to
ignore what I "Notify" AOL. EVEN IN INDIA AN AOL
LOYAL EMPLOYEE TOLD ME HE KNEW THAT ONE MORE
INFRACTION BY MY TORMENTOR WOULD LEAD TO ACTION.
NOTHING WAS DONE. More laughter at BBartle3 from
the secret, demented cabal.
